            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

The White House announced sweeping sanctions against Iran this morning -- is
the administration laying the groundwork for another war in the Middle East?

Fmr. CIA agent Valerie Plame reportedly tracked Iranian nuclear proliferation
before her career was ended when her name was leaked to the press. Hardball's
David Shuster will have a report with latest fallout from that scandal and then
we'll hear from Plame on her new book, "Fair Game."

Sen. Jim Webb (D-VA) warned "Hardball" viewers earlier this month that the
Senate vote to designate the Iranian Quds force as a terrorist organization
could be used to authorize an invasion into Iran. Tune in to hear Sen. Webb's
thoughts on the Bush administration's latest move.

Then, Rep. Bobby Jindal (R-LA) made history this week when Louisiana elected
him the first Indian-American governor in U.S. history. Rep. Jindal dealt with
the devastation left by Hurricane Katrina two years ago -- tonight he'll rate
the government's response to the Southern California wildfires.

Plus, how did Fmr. New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) escape a mob hit in
the 1980's? And which winning debate moment has Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) made
into a campaign ad?

We'll take a look at these stories and more with the American Prospect's Ezra
Klein, the Washington Post's Anne Kornblut and Jennifer Donahue from the N.H.
