            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

Yesterday an excerpt released from Fmr. White House Press Sec. Scott
McClellan's book claimed that top administration officials, including Pres.
Bush, were involved in spreading misinformation to reporters during the CIA
leak investigation. His publisher backed off those claims today, telling NBC
News that McClellan "did not intend to suggest that Bush lied to him." We'll
talk to Hardball's David Shuster and NBC's Savannah Guthrie for the latest news
on this story.

We'll then hear from the Washington Post's Dana Milbank and Newsweek's Mike
Isikoff for more on the fallout.

Next, we'll take an in-depth look into the administration's case for war in
2003. Did Pres. Bush and other White House officials knowingly mislead the
American public? Is Iran next? Ambassador John Bolton and Brown Univ. Prof.
Jo-Anne Hart will tell you what they think.

Plus, what does Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) have to say about Sen. Barack Obama
(D-IL)'s foreign policy credentials? And how did he respond?

Don't miss our roundtable discussion with the National Journal's Ron
Brownstein, Newsweek's Holly Bailey and Salon's Joan Walsh for more on these
stories.
