            The Hardball Briefing On MSNBC
------------------------------------------------------

First up: getting desperate!

When you're behind in the polls, you grab onto whatever you can, and both John
McCain and Sarah Palin are trying to make the most of Joe Biden's statement
that Barack Obama is sure to be tested in his first six months in office. But
is it smart strategy to attack Obama on experience when most voters have grave
doubts about question Palin's qualifications and experience? We'll ask McCain
supporter Rep. Heather Wilson (R-NM) and Obama supporter Rep. Chris Van Hollen
(D-MD) to weigh in

Next - it was Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN), who said here on "Hardball" that
Democratic members of Congress should investigated for being un-American. We'll
talk to Air America's Mark Green, and MSNBC's Pat Buchanan, who's nobody's
liberal, about this latest development.

Plus, could Dennis Kucinich have been right when he said he believed in
U-F-O's? We'll give you some quote-unquote "evidence" in the Hardball Sideshow.

Later, one of the Kings of Political Comedy, Bill Maher, the host of HBO's
"Real Time" and the star of the new film "Religulous" gives us his take on this
election.

Be sure to tune into an updated 7pm edition of "Hardball" for numbers from the
today's NBC News-Wall Street Journal poll.
