Nancy,

A template is some "boilerplate" text that one can
drop into one's note.  This is different from the
"type" of note that one can have.  A note type is
stored in TIU DOCUMENT DEFINITION, I believe, and can
have some predefined boilerplate text associated with
it.

I have found the templates feature of CPRS/VistA to be
a wonderful timesaver.
