How about moving the next OpenVistA conference to New Orleans? 1. It would be a bold stroke, but not necessarily foolhardy.
2. We could benefit from VistA's recent successes during Katrina at the VA and in shelters. 3. There are opportunities in the need for new infrastructure throughout the area. Presumably that includes small and large practices and some hospitals that will be built/rebuilt. 3. VistA should be addressing the need for disaster-ready medical systems. 4. There may be bargains in hotel/meeting space, etc. 5. Can't be more of a challenge than some of the other venues we've played. :-) Just a thought that came to me when the radio was talking about the convention business in New Orleans... it will come back, and soon. But they have lost a great deal of business and are looking to recover. jlz Just wanted to give Maury a little gastritis. :-) ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: Power Architecture Resource Center: Free content, downloads, discussions, and more. http://solutions.newsforge.com/ibmarch.tmpl _______________________________________________ Hardhats-members mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/hardhats-members
