I believe fail locking in GNU systems is very different with MS.  That
might be your problem.

Yeah - 

I'm completely ignorant on CPRS, but if I'm thinking correctly, it was
written in Delphi which is now history (minus Kylex).  Some thought of
porting to Java.  I recommend not walking this path twice.  Port the
application to GTK and never worry about doing it again.  And it will
work on Windows and GNU systems.
