Peter, the AMD Sempron is akin to the Intel Celeron. I would avoid both. You won't go wrong with AMD's Athlon line, though.
Also, a PC/laptop's graphics is becoming more and more important. Try to avoid shared memory - where some of the system's RAM is for for video RAM.
