Either they reverse (on instead of off, off instead of on) or they are always on or always off. These pixels are very small, and I have only seen one monitor in three years with one.

Of course. Things can always break. I've only ever seen it from the beginning, however.

I wouldn't be too concerned. But just look at the screen before you leave (check it in all white and all black to see it.)
