[H] Bad hard drive epidemic

Anyone else getting a lot of bad HDs recently?  Over the last two weeks, 
I've replaced 8 hard drives, in various computers (both desktop and laptop) 
and of various manufacturers (Fujitsu, Seagate, Maxtor, and Quantum.)  I'm 
starting to wonder about a virus damaging drives.  I don't think it's 
lightning - we haven't had any for over a month.
