Ok guys, I was just kidding with my post about having to use Raptors in all my systems.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was going to price those Raptor at the ASI online site. I just went to the Asus P5GD2-X motherboard and PCI-E video cards and PC 4200 DDR2 RAM for my new P4's.

I have one more Celeron D 2.93 GHz to sell. What Athlon CPU would provide the best value for an economy computer? Did I say, "Athlon?" What Asus motherboard would host that Athlon and also host the most broad spectrum of Athlons so I can rebuild some name brand Athlon into good cases etc.?

I am slow but I am listening. I am open minded to Athlon. I have seen enough performance from Athlons that I worked on.

This may sound like an elementary question, but I am getting tired of Intel since they abandoned the 478 and are on a roll in changing the type of sockets they require. Is AMD more stable in sticking with the same sockets? I sure hope so!

Chuck
