Be careful of cell phone batteries as today CNN reported a woman who's cell phone blew up causing 3rd degree burns from a non-manufacturers battery. Ouch!

Subject: [H] UPS battery ?

red light on my tripplite is saying bad battery

batteries are $25 ea ( need 2 ) plus shipping

I have a 7 year old Tripplite 450 VA that has only one battery. I replaced it once so far and the unit is doing fine. My preference is APC. I have 3 of the APC 650 VA and 1 APC 1000 VA. I seldom have to replace a battery. Most of the 650's are over 5 years old. I purchase my batteries locally from http://www.batterysource.com/locations.htm

I am sure I could purchase my batteries cheaper on the Internet but I would have to wait and add shipping. I pay for the convenience of taking my battery in for proper matching at the Battery Source where I purchase my replacement cell phone batteries, also. Those cell phone batteries are another story, pricewise, Ouch!! I may do better next time by purchasing those on the Internet and paying the shipping.
