How about this? Give away the music for free, and then make their money touring. Sort of like computer technicians - we give away free advice over the phone all day, but charge you when we actually fix the computer.

Right now, they have the entire system backwards - they do free concerts to promote CD releases, then charge for the CD. Of course, this takes money away from the RIAA, and it means they won't be able to pay off the radio stations to play the songs they want, but that's fine with me.

Used to be for $.50 you got 2 singles on a 45, now it's $.99 a song and DRM controlled? Lots of pork in the entertainment industry!

And the music quality is dropping as well.
