Boy....from the ad is sure if hard to tell of this beast is really meant
to support TV watching. I bought a wide screen 17-inch for my exercise
room recently...it supports HDTV (includes a TV tuner), and has
component, composite, s-video, and DVI inputs. It looks great on HD,
too. Can be used as a monitor, TV , or both. The real thing is that one
didn't have to guess or hunt around for the info...what's up with that?
Is dell not marketing this for general TV use, too? Given that media
center PC are on the rise, you'd think they'd pull that aspect harder.
I suggest you download the manual and read it for sure. I like the fact
that a screen can double as a real TV or PC if you want it too. Gives
extra options down the road. IMO, of course.

the 2407 does have component, and 1080i is supported over component.
Are you planning on using this thing as a TV or something? If you're
just feeding it from a computer, then it doesn't matter so long as it
supports HDCP--which it does. You'll be able to watch HD-DVD/Blu-Ray
HD content in Vista on it.

Also, you might take a look at a current deal here:
http://www.slickdeals.net/#p7727 --it gets
interesting.... but I am still trying to figure out if it has HD support
you the 2407 as well as a 2.8GHz dual core/1GB/250GB XPS400 for
around $1k. Might be able to sell the machine and get a better deal
on the monitor, or keep the box as a decent secondary.

I am close to buying one of these.... I have read so many good
things about the Dells, especially on Maximum PC that I really
haven't looked at anything else. A good choice for the money?
I thought they supported HD.. but I don't see that in the specs?
Or am I missing that?
I see this under features
<Picture In Picture / Picture By Picture,>
but I don't get it? Picture in picture is done with two tuners...
what do they mean?
thanks
