The theatre 550 cards are very good especially the PCI-E 1X cards. But theatre 
650 cards are right around the corner about 2 weeks away

Agreed--I learned the same lesson back with the Matrox Rainbow Runner. You 
might look at the ATI Theatre 550 card...supposedly one of the best analog 
tuners out now.

A review I found of the X800 XL AIW showed 56fps at 1600x1200 (4xAA, 16xAF) 
in HL2, and that was in November...so you're probably going to be decent 
with that game.
