I stared at the pix on the newegg page shared. I am confused. Where do these converters get plugged into? On the eide connector of a HD? And, what are all the extra pins (5?) in the plastic cover cutouts for? Foggy4Sure...... :)

If you read the reviews, I took it that they plug in cleanly to the back of the PATA drive ,and then use a PATA molex connector to power up and a SATA cable to connect to the controller. Their also appears to be a LED on the device to show transfers. It seems to be a very clean design that doesn't seem like a add on. Plugs directly on to a PATA drive and turns it into a SATA drive with a legacy type power connector.
