Shouldn't have pressed send so quickly :) PATA drives will eventually start getting harder to find, especially in large capacities. Although I think we'll see motherboards without PATA connectors long before the drives disappear. Motherboards are already starting to cut down on the PATA channels, many only come with one, along with 6+ SATA channels. Although with PATA -> SATA and SATA -> PATA converters available fairly easily I can't see there being too much of a problem getting drives working in newer or older systems. n.
