I was advised against bridge mode, but guided through
the setup by a Verizon
tech last year. YMMV!
Nothing short of bridge mode makes sense anyway if you
do logging since
router/firewall would log all attempts as coming from
the same private IP the
modem has mapped you to rather than the true outside
IP source.
Meanwhile Verizon has never been any help when my
download speed suddenly drops
to 512Kb for hours or days at a time. I was missing my
Comcast until I heard
they added max transfer caps which is just moronic and
dishonest.
