Can you telnet to a web server's port 80 and connect? (ie, "telnet www.hardwaregroup.com 80") and then type "GET /[enter]" and have the server respond?
Cool, good idea. Unfortunately it tells me: Could not open a connection to the host on port 80. Connect failed.
Could it be a proxy setting in the Internet control panel / firefox settings? DNS problem? If you type in an IP address into Firefox/IE, does it work? I really have no idea--odd since Firefox AND IE don't work...
I'll check these too. I'm also going to see if there's anything partially installed AV software that might be doing something.
