Uh, that explains it. I'll do some searching. This link editing issue
with Eudora has been a sore spot for a number of years of use.

I used WordPad, but found that WP
did not save the result properly. I selected Unicode instead of Text.
Eudora needed to do some sort of recovery.
All emails came back with a "?" as the Read/Unread status marker.
Just finished changing them all back to /Read/.
I have a Read & Unread icons on my toolbar so it's no problem to do a Ctrl
A then click the icon as req'd.
