I've dealt with similar issues and found that with many video cards and tv's,
the only way to fix this is spending hours using powerstrip to hand tune and
tweak video card output. Yes, this sucks but is often necessary to get
everything perfect or as close to perfect as the tv and video card combo allows.

thread a month ago. Well, I have
being playing around and found a strange behavior. The 1080p HDTV is
connected via HDMI to an onboard nVidia video card, NVIDIA GeForce 6150.
Works fine for the full 1920x1080 screen. I previously also connected the
6150 via the VGA input of the HDTV. Both work just fine at 1920x1080.

Today, I tried to connect the now vacant VGA port of the HDTV to another
computer with a SAPPHIRE 100206L Radeon HD 2600PRO with dual DVI ports. I am
unable to use the full 1920x1080 resolution except in a panning mode. I have
looked everywhere in the Catalyst Control Center and no matter what I
select, I can not get to a 1920x1080 non-panning screen. Going one more
step, I tried the "HDTV" output or the Radeon card, which utilizes a
component cable, and had the same problem. I am disturbed that a video card
labeled as "HDTV" will not display with full resolution when the onboard
nVidia display handles it without a problem.

Any suggestions? This is not a deal breaker as I have no NEED to run the
HDTV from the second computer, but was contemplating purchasing a PCI video
card to run three monitors from the second computer. If the best I can do
with the Radeon HDTV card is pan and scan, I will be looking to nVidia for
my next video card.

Thanks
