Yeah, that grammar error had me flipping the values. I knew they paid the kid, but I kept wanting to go back to the initial statement. So instead of thinking 'they paid $25 and split the tip for the bellboy which is $2 divided amongst themselves' I wanted to say; they paid in $28 (they didn't) flipping the 3 and 2. That wording threw me for a loop and doing it on a blackberry in rural kansas blah. And of course, as I'm redoing the math have to get pulled over in nowheres ville for a 90 / 65. Double blah! I know when I first read the original post, I could not get my mind around the problem. It seemed impossible! It is the way they framed the question, which gave false information: "Now, each guy renting the room has paid $9, and the bell boy keeps $2: $2 + (3 x $9) = $29" The $2 tip is PART of the 3 x $9, so they have misdirected the reader to think something that is not true. They wanted you to fixate on that information! It's Been Fun! :) Jim > -----Original Message----- > From: Chris Reeves > Ok. See it. :). 25+2 for the tip. :). Blah.
