That's a good one too and was on my list.  I think the deciding factor was
that the Samsung was actually in Best Buy the day I went to buy.

There are different types of LCDs based on the manufacturing process that
built them but for the most part if you are looking in the consumer price
range you are only going to see TN+ panels which have great response times
but medicore to decent color reproduction and limited viewing angles.

IPS or PVA displays tends to have great color reproduction (which you need
if you are a graphics professional) and better viewing angles, but are
generally more expensive.
