the PCP&C units are always a solid choice, personally I've used a lot of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139004&Tpk=corsair%20550vx lately without issue

Really you don't NEED anything over a good quality 400w unit, especially if you're not loading in a big videocard, My tri-harddisk, 4Ghz OC'd E8400 with 8GB of DDR2-800 @ 2.2v/890Mhz and an 8800GTX draws 380w _at the wall_ when flat out, it has a 550w corsair unit in it, with no OC and no big GPU you're looking at well down into 400w is ample territory.

500-550w is very comfortable, the vast vast majority of machines do NOT need >600w PSU's, that's just into the realms of lunacy and bigger- number-chasing in the vast majority of cases. (I've got an Opteron 175 box I use as a server with 2GB of ram and 10 disks in it, that draws ~200w under load, ~100w with the disks spun down and C'N'Q engaged... makes the 565w Enermax PSU in it seem a bit... overkill)

It occurred to me this am over coffee that I might need new psu's for the planned new systems. Sure enough, after some quick checks in the P5Q3 UM, I do......and it is qty=3.
OK, went to Newegg and found this appealing choice:

Comments? I am still researching the "size" issue mentioned in some comments/reviews.

Has Seasonic stopped building? Or, are they just so popular now that they are mostly always sold out? Was thinking of the S12-600Wht. Have yet to find one though. But then, I do not use many different vendors. Hmm.....anyone have quality links.....?
Best,
