There is an .\Administrator account (.\ meaning local machine context), but
you can't get to it via the Users CP applet. You need to open Computer
Management, then Local Users and Groups,

that is how I would expect to find it but I don't have that . I am logged in as username\administrator. The only way I can get to users is from control panel \ User accounts and the the only users are Guest and the user name I am using. If I try to create Administrator I am informed there already is an account... but I can't see it.



then Users. Vista disables the
administrator account by default, but you can re-enable it and set a
password here. It may show up in the Users CP applet after it's enabled.
Don't know--I always use the other interface.
