Hello HWG,

I searched the APC FAQ and knowledge base to no avail, so I am hoping
to find the answer here. The unit has been in service a long time, I
love it and have many of them in use. Never seen this before until
now, basically the UPS just shuts down on it's own. It is being
monitored with Powerchute software but there are NO automations in
place for it to shutdown the UPS unit or even systems for that matter.
It just monitors the power and logs it all for me. I have cleared logs
and double checked to make sure something isn't telling it to shutdown
the unit. Since I am not perfect nor is software, I am going to
terminate that connection (DB9 serial) to help rule that out. It's
been in use awhile and I am hoping it's not going out on me.

Ideas?

(Ideas given or other information posted in reply were)

Battery was replaced and WNL
Load seems normal.
Serial connection to Powerchute now ruled out.

ADD:
This happens extremely infrequently, but it does happen.
Nothing appears to trigger failure. Unit probably going out?
