BTW, when I say Acer, I'm talking Travelmate only (the professional line). Aspire isn't worth the money, the same as every other "home-grade" line from any manufacturer.
My bottom is line is that in my experience (and I have a lot of it), HP, Dell, Toshiba and Lenovo won't replace hard drives until they fail completely, while Acer will send me a hard drive as soon as the SMART tests start showing problems (and I'm talking the SMART attributes, not a full SMART test failure).
