That is a nice little router, I've installed that very model at one of our
customer's homes.  When you configure the router you're going to assign an
X# port to the WAN (generally X0) and you will plug your cable modem
there.  I've done a bit of work on these devices, if you're 100% stumped on
it, let me know and I'll help you out.

For your old Trendnet router, does it support DD-WRT?  Might want to look
into changing to that firmware.
