JB,
Agreed, but I can not recall my ram voltages out of spec per either bios or os-level tool in years (cpuid-hwmon v1.14, everest home v2.20, etc.). Do agree that ram voltage specs are much tighter now than pre-2000. OK, I will do some research........... :)

Duncan

Duncan,
surely not running the ram at it's spec voltage is likely to cause odd stuff to
happen which will leave you with a technical issue to chase?

Forc5,
Don't really understand the voltage difference. I don't OC any longer. I let
the m/b set RAM voltage as it sees fit. One less technical issue to chase when
odd stuff happens.

I too used to like Mushkin :'(

The ballistix need to run at 2v when pushed. Usually work fine @ 1.8. depends
on bus speed I think. 1.8 ok at 400 but 2 needed beyond that.
just a guess

fORC5,
I share your skepticism. I own 3 of those Ballistix 2GB kits. I have seen issues with 2
of them. Nothing serious yet, just periods of odd behavior. I have already rma'd one 1GB
stick (2010). I will continue to support Crucial for now, but I will NOT buy any more RAM
in the "Ballistix" series/brand.

Sadly, I have also given up on Mushkin product also! Way too many conflicting
choices.

Happy New Year to all !

Been using crucial memory almost exclusively for many years, had a system come
back in would not post. Testing memory one at a time, posts with one and not
the other. FWIW tested in more then one MB.

RMA initiated, 1st for me and Crucial. FWIW DDR2 800 Ballistix 2 x 1gb kit.

Voltage properly set, Balliztix specs 2V even though runs fine in my main box
at 1.8.

Hope this is not a sign. I also use Corsair on occasion but was wondering about
the groups track record with memory ?
