Just thought I'd provide some more information-- I've completed my overclocking on the 6-core. I settled at 4.3GHz at 1.4v. At that setting, my Linpack (May 2011 libraries--run MUCH hotter than the older ones I was using) temperatures were low 70's. Prime95 ran several C lower. The power swing between 0 CPU load and 100% Linpack according to my Killa' Watt was 270w. These things can suck some juice when overclocked and overvolted.
In a 20C room, idle temps run 25-28C. > -----Original Message----- > From: [email protected] [mailto:hardware- > [email protected]] On Behalf Of Greg Sevart > Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2011 7:41 PM > To: [email protected] > Subject: Re: [H] Water Cooling and ambient temperature > > I wish I had some more ideas for you.
