I use both dropbox and sugar sync. I just prefer to use my own storage and not have limitations on space.

Just to be clear...will the Pogoplug (series 4 - with 3 usb 3.0 ports, a 2.5-inch sata drive connection, and 1 usb 2.0 port) really do what dropbox and sugarsync do? Also, any movies I put up I would transcode myself. I have 100+ of those now, just to use on portable devices when I travel. Doing some right now, in fact.

I used to just run FTP sw on my server so I had off site access to data I might

I bought one of these last year on impulse, at a Amazon sale. I think it is a 2
and I paid 45 bucks for it. You plug it into your network, plug USB2 drives
into it, mine has two ports, and you can access them from your Lan or a web
browser by logging into their site. It is like the cloud but it isn't actually
in the cloud, it's in your house. I don't use it very often but it does what it
is suppose to do.

Anyone know about this device? Seems like a cool way to have your own online
storage without using anyone else's hardware (other than internet connections).
I have fast up/down links at work, so I could put one of these there and have
complete control over why share. It sounds like a cool thing. They are selling
it to people who use the cloud for $60, while online it costs $100.
