I am starting a new hdw project. Just because I can.
So, I come to the Collective to share ........... :)

I wish to try and push an old PC as far as I am able.
The old PC has family sentimental value.
I do burn trons with it each month, but, if my retrofit works,
I may back up, say, "Whoa!", AND,
just truck on with it until its' old cpu croaks!

It is an Intel P6-Pro/256, 512MB RAM (max), old Micronics 'Lightning' m/b.
This stack runs Windows XPpro ATM! Yes. Slow, but very solid w/o crashes.
I use a modern Intel GB NIC! I use an Adaptec 29160 SCSI controller.
The video card is an old Matrox Mill2 4MB.
All total, a true dinosaur today!

1st Q: Does our Collective still have active/lurker members that still do
SCSI?

I need to bounce some really OLD stuff around (back channel).

Thought? Suggestions?
Best of Season!
Duncan
