I just did a bunch of research on this myself, and ended up going for the
Denon AVR-2112ci. Aside from the standard complement of features (7.2, lots
of inputs, HDMI 1.4, etc.) I wanted something that could get FW updates over
the internet, and had Audyssey MutliEQ XT. Pioneer receivers seem to have a
lot of early failures, Yamaha has their own automatic speaker calibration
(YPAO) that usually isn't compared as favorably, and I wanted to stay away
from Onkyo after reading a number of reports (and having issues with my
existing older unit) with audio dropouts with some sources--including Dish
Network STBs.

I'm mating it with Polk centers, fronts, and surrounds and a BIC F12
subwoofer. Don't have it hooked up yet, but I'm certainly excited to get it
all integrated...

Just my 2 cents.
