Just wanted to say, I just recently bought a Yamaha (RX-V871) and while
Audyssey is a lot more popular, I did not find any negative reviews of
YPAO. Most reviews I found said there was very little difference between
the two. I have to say that I just love my new Yamaha, I got a great price
on it and it has all the features one could ever want. The best part is
the streaming audio stuff, I really like being able to listen to Pandora
with a click on the remote. I bought my Yamaha for less than $500 and
it has every feature you (at least I) can think of. It has 100 WPC, and
if that is not enough it also has pre-outs so you can use external
amplifiers. I am driving a set of Paradigm studio reference 100 towers,
along with matching surrounds and center channel. It easily drives them to
reference volumes and beyond. I am very satisfied with my choice.

Oh, and on the original post. I think I would buy a new receiver rather
then getting an older model that is used. You can get a lot of receiver
for the money and will get newer and better technology. :-)
