Re the ongoing discussion of classification schemes, I don't think anyone has yet mentioned the expanded Judaica classification scheme which was done by the Jewish National and University Library. When I studied iLibrary Science at Hebrew University, this was the system we learned, and I find it very useful in my yeshiva high school library. (I know that other school librarian colleagues are using it as well.) It fits very nicely in a school library because if you use Dewey for everything else, it allows for the expansion of the 292 and 296 categories so you can extensively fine-tune your classification of Jewish subjects. I recently wrote to Shunit Degani (according to the JNUL website, she's in charge of the Classification Dept.) to ask if there has been a recent revision of their classification scheme, but I haven't heard back.
