Regarding old children's books, there is a need for a historical
collection of Jewish children's books but where is it or where should it
be? Who knew that Rachel Leket-Mor's library had one until she wrote?
And where would one send those old books instead of throwing them away,
as June Cummins suggests? The research community has a responsibility -
as yet unmet - to let librarians know where research libraries with an
interest in Jewish children's books are located, what they already own,
what their acquisitions policies are (only books published in America,
for example), what their gift policies are (do they accept anything that
comes in over the transom or are they selective?), and the means by
which one accesses their collections.
