If you look at the author's and publisher's websites, it will be clear that they are telling over a book of Taanach in the style of a graphic novel, but based on traditional sources. Graphic novel is more of a genre.
It does not claim to be adding anything to the text (no new characters, no new subplots, etc.). Presumably if one classes popular versions of Bible in BS, this goes there as well.
