Is there any reason I should feel badly about throwing out years of old magazines such as Midstream, Forum, Tikkun, Sh'ma, Jerusalem Report, Moment, etc.?
I also seem to have an Encyclopedia Judaica from 1970 which is missing volume 14. I don't know what to do with this either. And then there are the old Hebrew-only texts, including old siddurim, mahzorim, parts or all of the Tanach, and others that I don't enough to recognize; none are older than 1900, although some are from Poland. My new rabbi cleaned out his study and got rid of the material left by previous rabbis and now I either have to find good homes for all the above and more or just throw it out before my principal does. I am willing to deliver stuff to southwestern Connecticut, and places on the way to Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Saratoga Springs, New York. But mailing boxes of books has proven more effort than I want to handle as a volunteer librarian. Thank you for the opportunity to vent. If you are interested in perhaps taking some of the books and magazines, let me know. Rose Myers Fairfield, CT Stories are how we make sense of the world.
