Hi Aviva,

Your project sounds exactly like the anthology "Call of Memory" published by
Ben-Yehuda Press with co-editors Dr. Karen Shawn and Dr. Keren Goldfrad. It
comes with an anthology of stories and a teachers' guide with critical analysis
and teacher-friendly lesson plans, as well. I know this text quite well as I am
published in the teachers' guide. I also know many of the other writers who
contributed.
You might want to add yourself to the mailing list for a free print journal on
teaching the Holocaust published by the Azrieli Graduate School at YU. Email
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> and ask to receive their print issues.
Dr. Karen Shawn is the co-editor of the journal. You can mention I sent you.

B'hatzlacha,
Emily Amie Witty, Ed.D.

My high school seniors are doing a project which requires a holocaust work of
fiction (it should take place during WWII and/or be concerned with the
Holocaust in some way) accompanied by criticism or literary analysis of that
work. All I have in my library is Elie Weisel. Can anyone recommend a) fiction
suggestions which fit these criteria and b) a good source for holocaust
literary criticism? Any guidance or ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!
