Many thanks to Emily for pushing this message out. Just to add a little more info, I’m looking for 10 books to create a yearlong celebration, so it would be any book that would illustrate, illuminate, interpret any one of the commandments, thereby giving me one per month. I would then hope to have one of our faculty members facilitate a discussion of the book, and how it relates to the commandment.
I of course am hoping for Jewish fiction (Jewish author, Jewish culture, Jewish history), but as a great non-Jewish example, when thinking of the commandment regarding worshipping a false god, I think of A Christmas Carol… Ebenezer Scrooge worshipping money…but of course false gods come in all shapes… Thanks for any suggestions, Rhonda Rosen Rhonda Rosen| Circulation Services Librarian/ Media Librarian William H. To celebrate the 10 years, she's thinking of finding a book (hopefully fiction) that illustrates each of the 10 Commandments…so in other words, a book that deals with honoring one’s parents, a novel that has a plot about someone who covets his neighbor’s wife, etc. If you can think of some titles for her, contact Rhonda Rosen directly at [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>.
