My friend, my colleague, and my mentor, Jean Lettofsky, passed away on October 26. She was an amazing librarian, and an integral part of
the Cleveland Jewish Library community. Under her tutelage the Aaron Garber Library of Siegal College of Judaic Studies was a collection worthy of any larger city or Jewish institution. I met her in the early 80's in Cleveland, when I first became a librarian.
She was someone that I looked up to, and davened with in our small library minyan (yes, that's what it was called!), where all of the rabbis who weren't congregational rabbis davened. When I returned (with 2 children in tow) in the early 90's, I was privileged to
work with her at the library, and joined (again) the Cleveland AJL chapter. Her funeral will be held today at 2 pm Eastern time online, for those able to attend.
