The Haskell Platform is just one argument I'm making in favor of shedding `void`. The benefit of supporting `void` is so negligible that I feel that each argument I made alone is enough to justify dropping the dependency.

Yes, I support the Haskell Platform because it is an excellent way to mitigate dependency hell without reinstalling every library from scratch for every project's sandbox. I also develop without any difficulty on Debian Stable using the Haskell Platform provided by the package manager.

I wonder if you're not artificially restricting yourself by that desire.
Haskell Platform seems a nice idea in theory, but in practice no one
appears to use it. After all, who can restrict themselves to only
packages in that ancient subset? It's like trying to do anything on
Debian Stable.

If hackage went away and Haskell Platform was "Haskell" with frequent
releases then the world would be a better place. But that ain't about to
happen, so HP becomes a curiosity perhaps of interest to technology
historians when drawing up footnotes for a paper on failed software
management ideas.

Or so it appears from the peanut gallery.
