#45: A source build of HP recommends 'sudo make install' which isn't exactly universal ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- Reporter: Telemachus | Owner: Type: enhancement | Status: new Priority: trivial | Milestone: Component: (none-specified) | Keywords: ------------------------------+--------------------------------------------- HP recommends 'sudo' twice - after the initial ./configure and after the 'make' step of building. This is not a show-stopper and experienced *nix folks can adjust 'sudo' to 'su' for a global install, but it strikes me as odd to consistently assume a use of 'sudo' that as far as I know applies by default only to a few distros (Ubuntu and OS X, not sure who all else).
