Another consideration is the amount of T1 recovery.  If you allow too little TR 
you end up losing SNR for that reason.

Dear Professors,

I have tried the HCP DWI protocol on SIEMENS 3.0T prisma scanner, I noticed the 
TR can be shorter (than 5520ms) if the other parameters was set same as HCP's. 
Could you pls tell me why you didn't choose the minimal TR for DWI sequence, 
which will save a lot of time??? It would be very appreciate to receiving your
