I agree with you one hundred percent. As HDFS-14511 mentioned, I do not find
any use case of local edit in HA mode. So in my opinion, I agree that we should
do not load {{dfs.namenode.edits.dir}} anymore in HA mode if we has config
{{dfs.namenode.shared.edits.dir}} item.
But of course, we should toward agreement, [~elgoiri] any other concerns?
