My apologies for not understanding. Doh. In a case where vowels are present in a Hebrew word in a Yiddish context on the source, I'd give it a Hebrew vocalization in the primary field for the 245, and provide a standard Yiddish-language rendering if the word fell in a key part of the title. What do I think are the key parts? a) The first five or so words of a 245 $a b) The first few words of a 246 c) 5xxs are there if one needs to explain That's how I do it when it arises, but practice will vary from cataloger to cataloger. My two cents, and hopefully I've answered the question you asked this time.
