Hi Nadav, Oren,
We ported Hspell to M$ Windows, Solaris and we fixed several bugs in the Linux version. We integrated this code into OpenOffice but we have not yet committed our code back into the OpenOffice CVS code base. We are scheduled to do the commits in December.

Do you think they be merged back into 1.1, or only at 2.0?

This means that for all platforms, Hspell is integral to OpenOffice. No extra installation required. We are in communication with several individuals regarding porting the Hspell technology to Arabic and using it in Arabic OpenOffice.
Regards,

Will the RC5 you are working on include an option for menus in other languages?

Hi Oren,
The Israeli government ministries are using the RC5 version currently available for download on www.openoffice.org.il. Tk Open Systems will be releasing a new version of RC5 with improvements in the Hebrew of the user interface and support for Solaris early next week. We plan to have a final Hebrew RC5 version available in two weeks.

Hi,

I saw a screenshot in http://forums.ort.org.il/files/30/1878928/6690473.png
which includes spell-checking, and naturally (;)) became interested. Does
it use Hspell? If so, does it assume a version of Hspell is installed on
the system or does OpenOffice come with another copy of the Hspell
dictionary files (~150K, so it's not that big)? And if it uses Hspell,
does it use it even on platforms that include a different spell-checker
(namely, Windows)?

Thanks,
Nadav.
