Hi Tzafrir,Let's not be overly naive here. If people are meant to migrate to OpenOffice, they will need a way to access their old files. The huge majority, by a long long gap, of people migrating will be migrating from one of the MS Office versions (97, 2000, or XP). I believe, at least at first, most will come from 97. As such, it is important that these people have a migration plan.
Isn't it odd that MS Office is "Ok" even though it does not import StarOffice/OpenOffice documents at all, but StarOffice/OpenOffice is "far from being perfect" because it does not import MS Office documents perfectly? There is a lack of symmetry here, no?
The real issue is whether or not OpenOffice is a good office productivity tool by itself.
