What I really would like to have is a staff spacing system that tries to
squeeze together the staves until either a minimum interstaff distance is
reached or some interference between the printed material occurs.
For example, if some interstaff space is occupied by a lower slur of the
upper staff on the left and an upper slur of the lower staff on the right,
lily should be able to squeeze the staves taking into account that the
two slurs can not collide. A further improvement would be taking into
account that the slurs are curved and the space they occupy is smaller
than the rectangle that contains them.
