desktop MATE and KDE X11 does not work anymore after updating yesterday

Hi,


In MATE I can´t open any package, the menus are gone.

but they are displayed out of the screen,
so that I can´t use them. I can´t even quit emacs with C-x C-c



I have the experience since 1 year approx.
that after every updating the packages and the config.scm


I don´´t know the reason,
but I can beg those, who work very diligently, to look at that carefully.

I am going to install a 3rd desktop
in case to be able to start at least one after new updates.


How can I reset the MATE desktop


I have already deleted all cache, I was able to find some month ago,
but that didn´t help.

desktop MATE (already approx half a year) and now also KDE X11 does not work anymore after updating yesterday. In KDE X11 with Contr+alt+T I can open the terminal and with Contr+R open the last session, to open many packages, There is only KDE Wayland working, and the desktop files appear again on the screen, which did not happen for the last month. some things change concerning the desktop MATE and KDE. (I have installed those) in order to get the basic desktop on the screen with the menu line to have the ability to choose any package via mouse or via shortcuts?
