sorry, I have overread it,

I did that:

chown gast /home/gast

after that I couldn´t log in as always.

I did a:

sudo passwd gast


still I can´t log into my account: gast

but now I can see a change in caja/filemanager of MATE:

the owner/Besitzer:   gast - Gast

What does that mean?
two names?
Is now the owner: gast - Gast




Would there be a change if I change the name to a different one?
do a system update...

Or will there be the same problem?

Or should I delete the account completely
and create than a new one?

I got this mess through the Samba installation, which I have now deleted, but traces seem to be still here.
